Southtier was originally started as a learning experience for me, I wanted to know more about Content Management Systems, and how they integrate into 3rd party APIs; not withstanding the ability to pick up more on the affiliate marketing world and how some companies handle their affiliate systems and client relationships.
So after swearing, toying, and experimenting a little more, while bugging friends in the know-how how to do the bits and bobs I ended up coming across a new and unrelated situation. I was getting more and more frustrated with my recipe software and wanted a better way to store and share them safely with friends and family. So after scouring the net for alternative software to use on my Mac, I found that I was already using the best system out there ‘MacGourmet Deluxe’ but there was so much more I wanted from the software, and the developer didn’t seem like he wanted to go in the direction that I wanted to go. So low and behold I already had what I needed; WordPress is a great dynamic platform for storing and searching my posts, why don’t I use it for my recipes too. After posting a few bits and bobs, I found that the search facility worked a hell of a lot better than MacGourmet did, and I am able to put in as much content per recipe as I want without limitations.
So now that I have my platform, where do I go from here? Posting my favourite recipes, and some that are not so great, but at least I gave them a whirl; I now have my recipes on the go, and whatever else I have chosen to share in terms of health, humour, etc. I hope you enjoy the site as much as my family and friends do, I enjoy making the food as much as I enjoy sharing them.
